The geology of Rome. From downtown to the suburbs.
Rome, January 15
The book shows the geological knowledge of the roman soil and
subsoil, arising from recent investigations carried out during the
execution of the geological mapping at scale 1:50.000 project
(Cargo) and from researches conducted over the past ten years by
public and private institutions. The book clearly highlights the
important connection between history and geology and has the
ambition to be a summary document describing in detail the
geological characteristics of the territory. It aims at becoming a
reference for any future action of development and
safeguard related to the city and the territory.
