The rainfall trend of recent months is comparable to the great drought suffered by Italy in 2017. If by April there will be no significant rainfall, there will be a considerable deficit of water resources.
The negative trend is recorded both in rain and snow precipitations and in the data of the levels of surface and ground water, with some basins, such as that of the Po and the islands, in very serious resource deficit. What to do and how to improve forecasts, prevention, infrastructures to cope with recurring drought conditions.
