Method for the measurement of Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) in water by cuvette test.
In the framework of the ISPRA institutional activities, aimed at guaranteeing the comparability of environmental monitoring data produced at national level by Regional/Provincial Environmental protection Agencies (ARPA/APPA), between 2010 and 2013 two collaborative studies were carried out to validate a method for the measurement of Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) in water by cuvette test. The method is used by many public and private laboratories, as alternative to method APAT-IRSA 5130, in routine analysis. ARPA/APPA laboratories as well as private laboratories participated in both the collaborative studies. The validated method 5135 follows the enumeration already adopted by the Handbook APAT-IRSA N°29/2003 “Metodi analitici per le acque”.
