A new study of the biologic invasion in Europe shows that the arrival of invasive species is linked more with human pression and density than climate change or different environments. The study carried out by 26 european researchers included Piero Genovesi of Ispra, has been published on Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America (PNAS), one of the most prestigious international scientific magazine. In the study is underlined how is important to understand the reasons of the biological invasions to develop effective tools to prevent the negative effects of this phenomena, that at economy level costs about 12 billion of euro/year in Europe for the impacts on the productive activities and human health.
