The document, updated to December 31, 2016, is prepared on the basis of data that the various operators annually, who are responsible for the primary responsibility for the safe possession and management of the waste, transmit to ISIN (and, before 1 August 2018 , at ISPRA).
Elaborated with data on volumes, masses, physical state, specific activity, radionuclidic content and storage conditions, the National Inventory of radioactive waste also includes spent fuel and abandoned sources.
