ISPRA will make available its knowledge on hydrology, hydrodynamics, hydromorphology, on the state and evolutionary dynamics of internal surface and underground water ecosystems, basin planning and management of hydrogeological risk, also through official reporting on structural interventions for soil protection, such as the National Repertory of Soil Protection Interventions (RENDIS) and the Inventory of Italian Landslide Phenomena (IFFI project).

The Po Basin Authority studies and monitors the territory of the district of 8 Regions and 1 Autonomous Province, an area home to numerous and important productive activities, with significant impacts on the natural system; to this is added the variability of the hydrological conditions and the ongoing climate changes, which manifest themselves with particular intensity in the Po Valley. The ADBPO has the task of planning the management of flood risk and ensuring the improvement of the characteristics of the water bodies, preventing further deterioration, protecting the aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems and promoting the growth of the territories involved.
