ISPRA participates in the NaturArte Festival

NaturArte is a green festival on wellbeing and sustainability, organized by the Sintonia and Initinere association with the patronage of the Lazio Region and the municipality of Trevignano Romano. On 21 and 22 September, workshops, laboratories, conferences, sports and initiatives will be held aimed at spreading natural well-being and a healthy and eco-sustainable lifestyle.

To understand the causes of the problem and discover how we can protect our sea, researchers from the National Center for Environmental Characterization and Protection of the Coastal Zone, Marine Climatology and Operational Oceanography of ISPRA will meet the young people to talk through workshops and games of:

Coastal Ecosystem: illustration of the different types of coastline, the Ecological Beach and the importance of ecosystems such as Posidonia meadows, fundamental for marine life. Finally, the "Find the intruder" Quiz on waste in the coastal environment to be recognised.
What beach would it be without sand? Demonstration of how our beaches are slowly disappearing and an experiment in coastal erosion.
Space coasts: The future of our beaches. Presentation of the latest technologies for monitoring the marine environment and possible solutions to combat coastal erosion. Finally, the quiz "Young observers of space" with satellite images to interpret.
The beach and man: Through experiments and simulations, observation of the devastating effects of plastic, oil and other pollutants on the oceans.
Oceanopoly Game: Through fun and interactive games, children will learn to respect the sea and protect it, with simple daily actions that each of us can implement to reduce the impact on the marine environment.
