"Small Municipalities, a resource for the Environment"

"Small Municipalities, a resource for the Environment" is a special prize set up by the Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea (MATTM) and ANCI. It's addressed to the unions of Italian towns composed exclusively of small Italian Municipalities as benificialry of the project "Support actions to small municipalities to share information of environmental and territorial interest". The project is financed by MATTM and built un by ANCI, with contributions of ISPRA for the dissemination activities. Through the active participation in the project, the involved institutions had the opportunity to learn and develop skills and capabilities in the management of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), using the ICT infrastructure made available by MATTM. The prize "Small Municipalities, a resource for the Environment" will be assigned to the 3 Unions of Municipalities, among the 36 beneficiaries of the project, judged worthy - especially for the mapping project realized - by a special jury composed of officials appointed by MATTM and ANCI.
The awards ceremony will take place on November 18, 2009 at 10:30 am at the Conference Room of the ANCI (Roma, Via dei Prefetti n.46), during a press conference.
