Next Saturday, January 18th , from 3 pm to 6 pm , a conference dedicated to the figure of Abbot Carlo Rusconi will be held in Montecelio (RM), in the bicentenary of his birth.
Abbot Rusconi, passionate geologist, naturalist and archaeologist, represented a prominent figure in the field of the 1800 scientific research in Region Lazio. He had among his supporters Joseph Ponzi, first professor of geology at the University of Rome La Sapienza and member of the Academy of the Lincei, who supported him presenting his work at the Academy.
During the conference, to be held at the Museo civico archeologico "Rodolfo Lanciani" in Montecelio, will be announced the donation by the heirs of Rusconi of his collection.
Marco Pantaloni, working in ISPRA's Department of Soil Protection - Geological Survey of Italy, will speak at the conference, presenting the "History of geological research in Cornicolani Mountains".
