Municipal Waste Report - edition 2024
The Municipal Waste Report is the result of complex effort of data collection, analysis and processing by ISPRA's National Waste and Circular Economy Centre, with the support of regional and provincial Environmental Protection Agencies. Its purpose is to provide an objective, timely and constantly updated information framework to support legislators in orienting appropriate policies and interventions, monitoring their effectiveness, and introducing corrective measures if necessary.
The Edition 2024 of the Municipal Waste Report provides data (reference year 2023) concerning municipal waste generation, separate collection and management at national, regional and provincial level as well as data on import/export of municipal waste.
Furthermore, data on packaging waste management, costs of the municipal waste management service and tariff scheme implementation in 2023 are reported.
Finally, the Report presents an up to date (year 2023) survey on the implementation of territorial waste management plans.
