Today in Italy the figure of the professional meteorologist has no recognition in law. The qualification of technical expert in climatology launched by Emilia- Romagna Region aims to to certify the skills necessary to practice a profession unregulated, taking into account the international guidelines established by the WMO for profiles of "Meteorologist" and "Meteorological Technician" .
