The International Year of Planet Earth
overlaps with the second decade of the national geological mapping
project at the scale 1:50.000 (project CARG). In this respect the
Geological Service of Italy, Regions and Autonomous Provinces
organize an exhibition-conference entitled "180 m2 of geological
maps. The national geological mapping project: 20 years of
history." The event exhibition will illustrate some of the
geological peculiarities of the Italian territory, drawing upon the
experiences made in the geological sheets implementation
process.
