In the agricultural environment, there is an ancient heritage of considerable value, that it is often overlooked and also little known.This is the case of "ancient and forgotten fruits", that means plant resources that once provided sustenance mainly food. The new market demands have lost the interest to cultivate these plant but in recent years has there been a growing interest in these "ancient fruits".

The seminar is aimed to emphasize the social, cultural, economic and scientific role of agricultural biodiversity. In this context national and international experts will contribute to the debate, explaining the role of farmers as stewards of biodiversity, economic opportunities related to the use and exploitation of local resources, as well as the socio-cultural connections with the territory. On this occasion will be presented ISPRA publications in collaboration with ARPA Emilia-Romagna about notebooks dedicated to the “Forgotten Fruits and biodiversity recovered”
