EC Public Consultation on an Integrated Management Action Plan of nitrogen and phosphorus
The EC Action Plan for an integrated management of Nutrients ( nitrogen and phosphorus ), which are are essential for life, aims at contributing to achieve the European Green Deal’s 2030 target of reducing nutrient losses by 50%, while not compromising the soil fertility. Nutrient loss leads not only to soil pollution but also to air pollution and water pollution, loss of biodiversity and a wide range of climate-change impacts.
The new Action Pan for an integrated management of nutrients aims at providing further action at EU level to the existing legislation to improve food security, protect human health and preserve the ecosystem. All interested parties including farmers, industries, NGOs and citizens are invited to share their views through the participation to the online consultation opened until 26 August 2022. On the consultation web page are already available the comments received and it is possible to follow the developments of the initiative.
