26th edition Conference of the Parties on climate change

The  COP26 , 26th Conference of the Parties on Climate Change in Glasgow, ended On November 12, Italy signed a series of documents and commitments: to reach the net emissions goal of zero by 2050, to create at least six green corridors by the middle of this decade, to increase the clean energy production to accelerate the energy transition, encourage the sustainable agricultural development of forests and other ecosystems. On the recommendation of the MiTE, ISPRA experts participated in the work of COP26 in consideration of the role that the Institute plays in the preparation of the inventory of greenhouse gas emissions and related skills. Opinion Paper Gene Drive Organisms (IG GMOs)

The joint interest group EPA Network and ENCA on genetically modified organisms produced an opinion paper on organisms containing gene drives, ISPRA contributed to the drafting of the document which was approved by nine Environmental Protection Agencies. The document highlights the ethical and ecological implications that gene drive applications could entail. In addition to social issues, these bodies pose challenges for environmental risk assessment (ERA), monitoring and risk management.

Circular cities: circular economy and decarbonization, the answer of the circular districts

The Maire Tecnimont Group in collaboration with Edizioni Ambiente and the Alliance for Circular Economy organizes three talks on the challenges of the future OCO2 as part of Ecomondo. On October 26th, the participation of ISPRA president, Stefano Laporta, is expected at the Talk "Circular cities: circular economy and decarbonization, the response of the circular districts".

Natural sinkholes

A hole with a diameter of m. 26 in the Municipality of Andria (BT) the farmers are unable to fill it up. Natural Sinkholes are huge sub-circular chasms that open up in the grounds within a few hours. For many years ISPRA has been studying the causes of these phenomena, which are more frequent than we might think, and carries out the census at the national level.

Higher Education School for Ecological Transition

The Advanced Training School for Ecological Transition is a training project promoted by Italian Exhibition Group / Ecomondo and by Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna, in collaboration with the ReteAmbiente Group, with the aim of spreading and enhancing the culture of sustainability in managerial level in the main industries of the country.
