World Food Day

The FAO celebrates every 16 October the World Food Day to commemorate the  foundation of the UN Food and Agriculuture Organization in 1945, the 16th of October.

The event aims to raise awareness at global level to guarantee food security for all people. The topic for this year is “Change the future of migration. Invest in food secutiry and rural development" face the link between migration, rural development and food safety.

The WFD is an opportunity to achieve the second target of the UN suistainable development goal Zero Hunger by 2030. Ispra will organize soon  an initiative on food waste and losses, connected with the today’s FAO main theme of food security
