Eu-Ets in Italy and main European countries

The emission trend has been analysed for the stationary plants belonging to the EU emissions trading system (EU ETS). At national level also the analysis of energy consumption trend has been carried out. The results show the decrease of emission factors for many sectors due to the increase of natural gas and bioenergy share in the fuel mix. At European level the main sectors emissions have been compared among the Member States with higher ETS emissions. Moreover, the ratio between free allocations, assigned to avoid carbon leakage, and verified emissions has been analysed at sectoral level to quantify permits over-allocations.
