Planet earth week

The tour, organized by the Geological Survey / Department of Soil - ISPRA, IFAC-CNR, University of Chieti and Pescara, will be held in the valley of the Turano the next 10 October, on the occasion of the Week of Planet Earth.

The excursion includes a visit to a part of a huge complex of hydroelectric plants located on rivers Nera and Velino, and moreover, the stages inside the Natural Reserve Navegna and Cervia to illustrate the geological, geomorphological and hydrogeological characteristic of the area.

The day will conclude with a guided visit to the Grotta del Cervo at the Natural Reserve of Grotte Pietrasecca (Carseldine).

From 12 to 19 October 2014 there will be the ‘ Planet earth week’ , an nitiative organized every 2 years in October, in all the national territory with the title : “ Italy discovers the Geoscience". The initiative is divided in various manifestations, called "GeoEvents", such as: field trips, walking in urban centers, visit to the museums, exhibitions, educational activities, experimental activities of laboratory for children, musical and artistic activities, tastings convivial, conferences, workshops, round tables.
