The Nagoya Protocol and genetic resources: access, use and benefit distribution

The entry into force in 2014 of the Nagoya Protocol on the access to genetic resources and the fair and equitable distribution of benefits deriving from them, and of the Regulation (EU) No. 511/2014 on the compliance measures as provided by the Protocol, open up a new scenario for numerous subjects involved in research and development activities.

The Ministry of Environment, Land and Sea, Directorate of Nature and Sea Protection, with the support of ISPRA, organizes at the historic site of the Botanical Garden of Padua, on 30 and 31 March, a meeting intended to illustrate the new tools and sensitize the national audience on the of genetic resources.
Representatives of international, national and European institutions will participate, as well as several stakeholders that will introduce the main legislative news, case studies and the results of the first surveys that the Ministry has conducted with the support of ISPRA and Unioncamere.
