The kick-off meeting of the project LIFE SEPOSSO "Supporting Environmental governance for the POSidonia oceanica Sustainable transplanting Operations" will be held next 15 November at the Ministry of Enviroment headquarter.
The aim of the Project is to increase the efficiency of the planning and control of the Posidonia oceanica restoration (priority habitat sensu HD - 1992/43 /CEE), which is designed to compensate the damage caused by coastal works and infrastructures subject to Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) , through electronic information systems, guidelines, technical-scientific manuals and training courses. Collaboration with the various stakeholders involved, both technical and administrator, will be essential to develop good practices to provide concrete support for the Governance of these activities and to European environmental legislation (e.g. EIA-2015/52 /EC and MSP -2014/ 89 /EU), based on the ecosystem approach to the sustainable use of resources.
In addition, extensive networking will ensure that project results are shared and replicable even on a Mediterranean scale.
