Emissions of greenhouse and compensatory interventions in the forestry sector: an application into the forest of the city of Acerno

The aim of the conference is to explore the opportunities to
forest owners, public and private, and rural communities to
"internalize" the services that forests provide following the
national policies of mitigation and adaptation to climate change
and supply of woody biomass for energy purposes.
During the press-conference, will be presented the ISPRA
report "Emissions of greenhouse gases and compensatory
interventions in the forestry sector: an application to the forests
of the city of Acerno." The report, written by L. Ciccarese, C.
Cascone, S. Cipollaro and V. Giovannelli, is the final result of
the agreement between the City of Acerno and the Department of
Nature Protection of Ispra. It provides some guidance to local
decision-makers regarding the choice to integrate or not the
component of carbon fixation in the management objectives of their
forests. The idea of ??the authors of the report is that the
approach and methodology used can be extended to other situations
in rural and forest land on the Italian territory.
