Ispra's training course VIA-VAS: proceedings
In Italy, the process that determines an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) has been in force since 1986.The Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), whose target is the assessment of the impacts of plans and programs on the environment, was introduced in 2007.
At national level, the Technical Committee Verification Environmental Impact – VIA VAS (CTVA) of Environmental Minister evaluates the projects and plans / programs of national interest. The Commission is technical and scientific supported by ISPRA since 2008.
The introduction of the environmental assessment procedures have yet to fully establish itself in Italy as a tool able to combine development and environmental sustainability.
Objective of the course, organized in 6 half days, and will have an seminar is aimed at ISPRA colleagues, is to improve the performance of the Institute in the field of environmental assessments.
