ISPRA's hearing on the issue of safety of the radioactive waste and the process of decommissioning of nuclear installations

Last October 30 took place the hearing of ISPRA in the VIII and X Commissions of the Chamber of Deputies on the issue of safety of the radioactive waste and the process of decommissioning of nuclear installations.

ISPRA, represented by the President De Bernardinis, the Director- General Laporta and officials of the Department of Nuclear, Technological and Industrial Risk, recalled its role as regulator and supervisor for nuclear safety and radiation protection of nuclear facilities and for the use of ionizing radiation sources, including radioactive waste produced in Italy, for the most part placed in nuclear facilities for years no longer in operation, for which is scheduled the deactivation.
