Periodical meeting of the Italian-Swiss Commission for Cooperation on Nuclear Safety (CIS) – 25 October 2016

The periodical meeting between the Nuclear, Technological and Industrial Risk Department of ISPRA and the Swiss Federal Nuclear Safety Inspectorate (ENSI) has taken place at the headquarter of the Institute on the 25th of October

The meeting was held under the bilateral agreement in place since several years between the Italian and Swiss national competent regulatory authorities for nuclear safety, concerning the cooperation on the early notification and exchange of information in case of an emergency and on nuclear safety related matters.Experts from the Italian National Civil Protection Department and from the Swiss National Emergency Operations Centre attended the meeting as well.

The two delegations were led respectively by the Director General of ISPRA, Stefano Laporta and the ENSI Director, Hans Wanner.

The delegations discussed and focused on issues of common interest concerning the decommissioning of nuclear installations, the radioactive waste management, radiation protection matters, as well as those related to emergency preparedness and response.
