The final results of MedSealitter project will be presented netx 11-12 June in Rome, concerning the developing of Mediterranean-specific protocols to protect biodiversity from litter impact basin and local MPAs scale. Numerous organizations from different European countries participated in the project (Italy, France, Spain, Greece). ISPRA in particular has coordinated the study and testing phase of protocols for both floating and ingested waste, coordinating more than 20,000 km of navigation at sea with the subsequent analysis of more than 6,000 georeferenced waste objects, and analyzes of ingested waste from almost 300 specimens of fish, 50 of polychaetes and 16 of sea turtle.
