SICI2SIC tour restarts from Puglia
On September 24th SIC2SIC restarts from from Puglia, after the last stage in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Umbria, Lazio, Sardegna and Piemonte and having crossed 650 municipalities and 228 Natura 2000 sites. Sic2Sic cyclists have covered 3,500 km, a long distance in which they were organized over 140 institutional meetings with local administrations and companies and over 28 information events in schools. The objective of the project? Multiply the focus and awareness of students, institutions, businesses and all citizens towards the increasingly vital issue of biodiversity and the role of the Natura 2000 Network, which at this moment represents the main instrument of European Union policy for the conservation of biodiversity. In Puglia more than 1,000 km will be traveled and over 130 municipalities crossed in a journey, starting on 24 September 24in Manfredonia and it will end on 19 October in Lecce.
