ISPRA and the Financial Police signed a memorandum of understanding
Collaboration, adoption of shared strategies and implementation of the necessary actions, within the respective competences, in the field of environmental protection, prevention and repression of illegal activities in the environmental field, in particular through the use of aviation vehicles and technologies. This is the object of the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the General Commander General of the Financial Police Giuseppe Zafarana and the President of ISPRA Stefano Laporta.
Among the activities that involve collaboration between the two Parties: the protection of water and the control of infrastructures located in the sea, the defense of the atmospheric environment, the soil, the subsoil, marine and terrestrial biodiversity and their respective crops, waste, the identification and remediation of contaminated sites, combating illegal building, searching for archaeological sites hidden underground or submerged, through the interpretation of satellite data and the tools supplied to the Financial Police, which has aircraft equipped with systems for aerial remote sensing.
