The Italian Society of the History of Science promotes the development and disseminates the knowledge of the history of science in its complex articulations. It enhances the material and intangible, book, archival, museum and landscape heritage that can be traced back to the history of sciences and techniques. It stimulates scientific-cultural exchanges between the humanistic and scientific disciplines.
On May 31, in Session 4 "History of the Earth and Geosciences: a stratified discipline", ISPRA researchers will bring their contribution by presenting the analysis of one of the first geological maps of the Campi Flegrei area created for application purposes in relation to the reclamation of the territory in the mid-19th century.
The cartographic document, unpublished and manuscript, is part of the cartographic collections of the Institute Library.
