ISPRA researcher appointed Secretary General of the Continental subcommission - Europe
During the meeting of the Commission for the Geological Map of the World (CGMW), which was held on 5 October 2022, the appointment of Marco Pantaloni from ISPRA as Secretary General of the Continental subcommission - Europe was ratified.
Founded in 1913 during the 12th International Congress of Geology in Toronto, CGMW (http://ccgm.org/) is the international association responsible for the design, preparation and publication of small-scale thematic maps of the globe, continents, major regions and oceans. As part of its mission, CGMW plays a leading role in the use and dissemination of digital cartographic techniques and in the development of international standards.
CGMW is supported by UNESCO and is affiliated with the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS) and the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG).
