National report on pesticides in waters. Data 2019 - 2020

The Report published by ISPRA provides information on the presence of residues of plant protection products in surface and groundwater. The results of the 2019-2020 monitoring are presented in terms of frequency of finding and distribution of concentrations, the levels of contamination obtained by comparison with the environmental quality limits are evaluated.
The evolution of contamination is analyzed and the most critical substances and the phenomenon of polyexposure are examined. Finally, the regulatory framework is placed in relation to the need to reduce the impact on the environment.
