Adopted the National Strategy for Biodiversity to 2030

The Minister of the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto, has signed the decree adopting the National Strategy for Biodiversity to 2030.

The Strategy defines national guidelines for the protection and enhancement of biodiversity and ecosystems, implementing the commitments undertaken with the ratification of the 1992 Rio Convention on Biological Biodiversity which recently adopted the Global Framework for Biodiversity to 2030 in Montreal in December and in line with the objectives of the European Biodiversity Strategy 2030

A Management Committee was set up at MASE with the aim of setting up initiatives, provisions and technical-scientific documents to be submitted to the State-Regions Conference

The Committee is made up of the delegates of the ministries involved in the implementation of the strategy and is chaired by a representative of the Ministry of the Environment. Also at MASE, to allow discussions with stakeholders, a consultation table is set up with environmentalist associations. Technical-scientific support is ensured by ISPRA, with the involvement of other research institutions, scientific societies and universities.
