The idea to organize a study-day but also an event of scientific divulgation is based on the consideration of the results of the different hydrogeological protection actions produced in recent years (see the landslide of Mercatello, just outside the village) to stop the deterioration of Civita di Bagnoregio, the "dying city".
Before the conference there will be a guided tour to the "Geological Museum and landslides" of Civita, by the GeoTeverina Association. That same morning the Geological Survey of Italy-ISPRA will lead another visit to the areas surrounding Colle di Civita.
