The National Day on GeoRisks will be held next September 6 , organized by the National Council of Geologists, where geologists will go in the main Italian squares to talk directly with citizens. The event is sponsored by ISPRA - Geological Survey of Italy - which will provide equipments and experts to answer to the questions from the public.
The event will start in Rome from 9:30 to 13:00 in Piazza San Silvestro where will be given also a demonstration of Georadar use, a tool for the detection of anomalies in the structure of the subsoil.
Through telematics stations it will be possible for citizens to find out all about what kind of land the single home rests and what risks are linked on that area through the Geological Portal ISPRA.
In the afternoon, from 17:00 to 19:30, the event will continue to the Casa della Cultura di Villa De Sanctis, Via Casilina 665.Here there will be a meeting to analyze the main geological hazards that affect that area and the presentation of the distribution of sinkhole phenomena in Roman Area illustrated by ISPRA experts.
