Presentation of the photographic volume “Deep colors of the Mediterranean”
It is more than 10 years that ISPRA has been using advanced instrumentations that allow an important research activities along the rich deep waters of the Mediterranean. In this context, thank to the R/V Astrea ship of ISPRA - with a sophisticated wire-guided robot, ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) capable of reaching great depths and to take photos, movies, and small samples of marine organisms- the researchers experts have explored, with more than 50 oceanographic campaigns, almost 900 dive points, at depths between 50 and 400 m, spread along all the Italian coastal regions.

Hundreds of hours of video and thousands of photographs were analyzed to study these deep zones; a selection of this material was used to create a luxurious photographic volume, through the expressive power of the images.
