The effects produced by the earthquake can be assessed by carrying out seismic microzonation studies, an instrument that allows to study the geomorphological and geological characteristics of a territory that intervene in the alteration of the seismic motion. It plays a key role for the territory planning and to support the design of the interventions on the manufactured ones. The CentroMS, that includes twenty-five subjects between research institutes and university departments, is available to support the extraordinary Commissioner of the Government for the technical-scientific coordination of seismic microzonation studies carried out by geologists and engineers in the 138 Municipalities most affected by events seismic surveys of 2016-2017.
