Seminar proceedings - Syndrome of beehive depopulation in Italy: multidisciplinary approach for the individuation of the causes and strategies of containment of the phenomena
Interesting elements emerged in the debate and in the reports
presented in occasion of APAT seminar about the bees disappearance
phenomena in Italy. In 2007 about 200.000 beehives were lost,
causing an economical damage from missed pollination of about 250
milions of euro. The hygenic conditions of the beehives, the
climate changes and the consequent minor availabilty and quality of
water and pasture, the territory unhealthiness (phytosanitary
products, elettromagnetic waves, ecc) are among the causes of high
mortality rate of the bees highlighted during the event.
