Gravimetric map at 1:1,000,000 scale

Img

The gravimetric map of Italy at the 1:1,000,000 scale was created by the Geological Survey of Italy and AGIP using 234,100 earth stations made available by AGIP, the Geological Survey of Italy, University Institutes and Bodies and various Private companies and 6200 seabed stations provided by AGIP and OGS. The Geological Survey of Italy oversaw the collection and homogenization of the data. The map represents Bouguer isoanomals calculated using a density of 2.67 g/cm3; the topographic correction was calculated by AGIP up to 20 km from the station point and by the Geological Survey of Italy from 20 km to 166,736 km from the station point. The isoanomalous, in two colours, are plotted with an equidistance of 10 mGal on a topographic-geological basis, with relative legend, taken from the "Mining Map of Italy" at a scale of 1:1,000,000 (Geological Service of Italy, Rome, 1973).
