Human pressure
This index represents the total anthropogenic disturbance that affects the environment within a physiographic landscape unit, in analogy to what defined at the scale 1:50,000 for biotopes.
The indicators that contribute to the evaluation of human pressure are:
- total pollution load calculated using the method of equivalent population
- impact of agricultural activities
- impact of transport infrastructure (road and rail)
- subtraction of territory due to the presence of built-up areas
- presence of protected areas, as a detractor of human
pressure
