Special Issue - Ecological networks in Italy: new experiences and perspectives from national to local level
The number 36 of RETICULA technical journal is now available online.
This issue marks the beginning of the updating of the APAT Guidelines for the Management of functional ecological connection areas (2003), an activity introduced and described in the editorials by the Director of the General Directorate for the Protection of Biodiversity and the Sea of MASE, Francesco Tomas, and the Director of the Department for the Monitoring and Protection of the Environment and for the Conservation of Biodiversity of ISPRA, Luigi Ricci.
The articles in the special issue are representative of the different stages of implementation of ecological networks at regional level, and provide critical reflections and analyses, particularly on the actual implementation of the plans in relation to the theme of ecological connectivity. There are also two boxes describing two ongoing project experiences (the Interreg Alpine Space PlanToConnect project and the Horizon NaturaConnect project) on the topic of ecological networks and possible ways of implementation
