Urban forests can contribute to both mitigation and adaptation to climate change, producing beneficial effects on the health and quality of life of citizens, as well as taking on a strategic role in urban development policies for the construction of resilient cities.
For this reason, urban forests have been defined as the "backbone" of the green infrastructure of our cities, which allows us to trace the connection between rural areas and urban areas, significantly improving their environmental footprint.
The Conference is attended by the Head of the Area for the conservation and management of flora, vegetation and forests, habitats and soil ecosystems and for the sustainable use of ISPRA's agroforestry resources.
