Aquila a - LIFE

The "Aquila a-LIFE" project aims to increase the area of ​​Bonelli's Eagle Banded eagle in the western Mediterranean and the recovery of the species now classified as critically endangered in Italy. Coordinated by GREFA, a Spanish NGO that deals with nature conservation also through the recovery of fauna in difficulty and captive breeding programs, the project started in October 2017, has a duration of 5 years and involves other Spanish and French partners

The Interreg Alpine Space is a European transnational cooperation program for European regions that occupy the entire Alpine area. The main objective is to facilitate cooperation between key economic, social and environmental actors in seven Alpine countries, and among the various stakeholders: universities, administrations, business sector, innovation, and decision-making processes.

ECOPOTENTIAL

ECOPOTENTIAL is a large European-funded H2020 project that focuses its activities on a targeted set of internationally recognised Protected Areas, blending Earth Observations from remote sensing and field measurements, data analysis and modelling of current and future ecosystem conditions and services. ECOPOTENTIAL considers cross-scale geosphere-biosphere interactions at regional to continental scales, addressing long-term and large-scale environmental and ecological challenges.

FARENAIT

As a general objective, the FARENAIT project intends to offer farmers and administrators an exact picture of the opportunities linked to the Natura 2000 network. To achieve this objective, the first step is to facilitate real collaboration between the bodies competent for the Natura 2000 network and for the agriculture, at national and regional level, setting up a suitable communication strategy at national level.

LAGOON REFRESH

The LIFE LAGOON REFRESH project foresees the diversion of a freshwater flow from the Sile river into the lagoon, necessary for recreation of the typical salt gradient of buffer areas between lagoon and mainland, for restoration of the reedbed habitat, and for improvement of the lagoon environment and its biodiversity.

Observatory of the biodiversity of the marine and terrestrial environment of the Sicily Region

The Regional Observatory for Biodiversity in Sicily is promoted as part of the Italian National Strategy for Biodiversity, approved in October 2010, which in turn follows up on the commitment that Italy has made with the ratification of the Convention on Biological Diversity of 1994. The project aimed at establishing the Observatory for Biodiversity in Sicily was born through the signing of a Framework Program Agreement between the Territory and Environment Department of the Sicilian Region, ISPRA, CNR and Arpa Sicily ( D.D.G. of the Environment Department of the Sicilian Region n.342 of 10 June 2011)

Sic2Sic - In bici attraverso la Rete Natura 2000

The project intends to develop a dynamic and innovative communication method to promote the active and conscious participation of citizens in safeguarding biodiversity, through the involvement of schools, local institutions, site managers, tourism operators, businesses and citizens. A group of experts (environmental researchers, territorial development economists, communicators and cycling tour guides) will connect over 170 sites of the Network in two years.

 

U-SAVEREDS


The project LIFE+ U-SAVEREDS “Management of grey squirrel in Umbria: conservation of red squirrel and preventing loss of biodiversity in Apennines” has as its objective the conservation of the red squirrel in Umbria and the protection of biodiversity in the Apennines.
