MONALISA project
The MONALISA project will provide innovative solutions to combat soil degradation and desertification in arid European and Mediterranean areas, thanks to a transdisciplinary approach and advanced technologies, such as remote sensing and artificial intelligence.
The ultimate target is to promote sustainable practices and support the economic growth of the areas involved.
Led by the University of Sassari, 20 partners, 2 associated partners and 1 affiliated entity, from Italy, Spain, France, Denmark, Greece, Romania, Switzerland, Tunisia and Palestine, participate in the project.
In particular, ISPRA will develop the preparation of a framework for desertification risk assessment and monitoring on a European scale and for the Mediterranean area.
The project is funded by the Horizon EU program to combat land degradation and desertification.
