Guidelines for the census and monitoring of macromycetes in Italy
These "Guidelines for the census and monitoring of macromycetes in Italy" are the result of the commitment and involvement of the many participants in the Open Science initiative of the Network for the study of mycological diversity (NMD).
The purpose of the work, developed between 2021 and 2023, is to define the optimal operational methods and protocols to carry out the national census and the monitoring of macromycetes in order to develop the Fungi Information System (SIF).
The manual is one of the results of the agreement between ISPRA and Italian Botanical Society (SBI) and it has requested the involvement of the Scientific Committee of the Network, the experts and mycologists enrolled in the Network and other professional experts in the field.
The target of the manual consists mainly of those mycologists and experts who are belonging to the Network, and mycological groups operating on the territory both locally and nationally.
