2011 Italy Climate Policy Progress Report
This report has been sent to the European Commission under the Monitoring Mechanism Decision (Commission Decision 280/2004/EC). The decision establishing a reporting mechanism to monitor Member States' annual emissions of greenhouse gases, to assess progress towards meeting commitments, to implement the national programs, the inventories of greenhouse gases and the national systems.
In accordance with Article 3.2 of the Decision, the report provides an analysis of national policies and measures that Italy intend to take to achieve the Kyoto target and for the period up to 2020, including compliance with the objectives of the "climate package" approved in December 2008. The report describes also the energy scenario and provides the main drivers of the projections.
