Atmospheric emission factors of greenhouse gases from power sector in Italy and in the main European countries

The report shows electricity generation trends paying attention to the different fuel sources. GHGs and other atmospheric pollutants emission factors for power sector have been calculated. Emission factors are useful tools for planning and monitoring projects that aim GHGs emissions reduction either as concerns strategies of electricity production or energy saving measures at user level. CO₂ emissions from power sector have been analyzed through decomposition analysis. Moreover the power sector performances of main Countries in European Union have been compared for fuel mixes, transformation efficiencies, and GHGs emission factors.
