PROGRAM
The field trip includes field activity during the day and discussion/practical exercises during the evening.
Day 1
Sites: Pietrasecca and Venere faults
Topics: Damage zones and fault cores associated with extensional faults in platform carbonates. Scan lines and scan areas. Fracture porosity, fracture permeability, and Discrete Fracture Network modelling.
Days 2-3
Site: Sibillini thrust and related anticline
Topics: Damage zone associated with thrust faults. Pre-, syn-, and late-folding background fracturing in carbonates, stress evolution in fold-and-thrust belts. Fault growth by linkage.
Day 4
Site: Sarsina
Topics: Mechanical stratigraphy in folded turbidite sandstones. Fracture topology. Facies-related fracturing
