Abstract
To analyze the attention of municipalities to eco-friendly management practices of
green areas, it was decided to consider the use of pesticides in the particular case of
mosquito control (principally of the genera
Aedes
and
Culex
considered possible
carriers of diseases such as Dengue fever, West Nile Virus and Chikungunya).
For the elaboration of this indicator the discriminatory factors, related to the use of
eco-compatible practices in the management of insect pest infestations in urban
areas, were analyzed: biological, chemical or integrated control, dissemination
activities at the regional and municipal monitoring, pesticide spread in green areas.
